This month, we welcome Maxine Hess to our Roswell Artists Series!

Maxine is a full-time professional artist who exhibits locally and nationally. Born and raised in Boston, Maxine studied at Boston University School of Fine and Applied Art and received her BFA from the Atlanta College of Art. Her varied experiences working as a consultant and coach and her travels to Europe and many of the Caribbean Islands add depth and originality to her work. She now resides in Cobb County with her husband and tabby cat. 

Maxine has exhibited in many juried exhibitions including A Night of a Hundred Angels, Whelan Galleries, Laguna Beach, CA, for which she received first prize in Mixed Media; Women’s Works, Woodstock, IL; the Georgia Museum of Art, a traveling exhibit; Manhattan Arts International Healing Power of Art; and the Atlanta Artists Center Synchronicity, for which she was granted first prize.

Her lithographs were highlighted in a one person show at Reinhardt College, Waleska, Georgia and her work has been featured in shows such as “Summer Salon” at Emily Amy Gallery, Atlanta, GA, “Brainstorm” at the Upstairs Artspace Gallery, Tryon, NC and in an invitational exhibit for women artists at Cherokee County Arts Council, Canton, GA.

She has received awards for her works on paper and has been published in the art and literature juried journal Share, Kennesaw State University. Her work is in numerous private collections throughout the U.S.

We continue to feature local photographer Maisie Partridge in our Roswell Artists Series.

Originally from Nottingham, England, Maisie settled in Georgia over 20 years ago. Since that time, she has traveled extensively throughout the United States and abroad in pursuit of photographic opportunities. She has won several photography competitions and has received numerous citations for photographs of local interest.

As a Georgia Master Gardener and past President of the Georgia Hosta Society, Maisie's love of nature can be seen in all of her photographs, ranging from botanical close-ups to quaint architecture.

After a glitch in her film camera ruined most of the slides taken on a two-week African safari, Maisie decided to switch to digital photography, which we are delighted to offer for sale in our showroom.
